“Trust in Him at all times. Trust is hard, because we can trust, and still bad things happen. We need to work at it daily, as things go well in our lives, we get the feeling we have everything under control, and trust is not a daily focus. When hard times happen, trust becomes more important but not easy because we are out of practice. Trusting God is an exercise of faith, looking at God’s goodness, power, and promises above our fears and discouragements, above confusing doubts, and above our immediate situation.
Pour out your heart. God never wearies listening to the burdens of His people; we should tell him everything that hurts us. Make him a friend; we cannot be more pleasing than when our heart is fully relying on Him. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us to present our requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Talk to Jesus and find His peace.
God is our refuge. Knowing God as our refuge allows us to trust Him. Biblical David is a great example of someone who knew God as his refuge. At different points in his life, David was on the run from people who literally wanted to kill him, but he always found safety in God. When we turn to God for help, we begin to see Him as our refuge. There is no situation we will ever face that is out of God’s control, so the best place to be is right with Him.”
