Freedom Has Three Meanings

“The first, freedom from, is a reaction. The second, freedom for, is revolution. The third, just freedom, is rebellion. It is present-oriented. The first is political, the second is poetic, the third is mystic, religious.

What do I mean when I say just freedom? Neither for nor against, no past, no future, just being here, now, just living moment to moment with no ideology, with no utopia.

The real sanyasi, the real mystic, is not against the past, is not for the future. He is so utterly absorbed by the present that he has no time, no energy, for the past and the future. This is how the rebel is born.

The rebel is the most beautiful phenomenon in the world. Buddha is a rebel, so is Jesus; Atisha is a rebel, so is Kabir. These are rebels. You will misunderstand them if you think of them as if they were revolutionaries; they were not. Neither were they reactionaries. Their orientation is totally different, their orientation is now, here. They don’t live for any ideal, and they don’t live against any ideal. They don’t have any ideas; no ideology exists in their consciousness.

Mania or Spiritual Awakening?

Is there a difference between a Manic episode and a “Spiritual Awakening”, “Spiritual Crisis” or “Spiritual Emergence”?

Rarely acknowledged by traditional psychiatry, the spiritual dimension of mania and what is most often labeled as “psychosis” may often times reflect a deeper spiritual emergence, a dissolution of ego, or higher state of consciousness. This is rarely a pure spiritually realized state, but rather a sudden, intense expansion of consciousness which is a blend of true spiritual insight, intuition, wisdom, and even psychic experiences — mixed with ego-level fear, anxiety and confusion. Professionals and crisis workers often fail to respect or recognize the spiritual truths that are part of this experience and instead focus on the “delusional” or psychotic process as pathological and meaningless. This is does a terrible disservice to the person in crisis.

Once the manic episode resolves, the person is often left feeling confused, depressed, frightened of their experience and alienated from others because the spiritual element of the experience is never validated and they cannot find meaning or value in the experience.

Your Ability to Sense Energy

It is one of your greatest strengths, and yet you rarely acknowledge yourselves for it. We are talking about your ability to sense energy, to vibe something out. When you realize that you have this ability and that you use it all the time, then you also must acknowledge that your ability to sense energy gives you an ability to create using energy as well.

Being able to discern differences in vibration is a true talent. It is a gift. Those of you who have been on your conscious journey for quite some time also realize that you are, and have been, empaths. What this means is that you are sensitive to energy. By being sensitive to energy, you know precisely what energy is needed to create something, and you know intuitively how to access it.
