Gregg Braden – “The 7 Essene Mirrors” Video

“From the perspective of the ancient Essenes, every human on the earth is an initiate in the Mystery School that we call Life. Whether they are conscious of it or not, every human will experience in the presence of others’ mirrors of themselves in that moment. If we have the wisdom to recognize those mirrors, we may accelerate the evolution of emotion and understanding.”

Below is a summary of Braden’s two hour talk.

The first mirror is our mirror presence in the moment and what we reflect to others.  The second mirror tells us what we judge in the moment and what pushes our buttons.  The third mirror is what we’ve lost, given away or had taken away. We may feel an electric charge to a person and we lose a piece of ourselves.  He says this third one leads to addiction and compulsion (to money, power, sex, etc.) as we may give away what we hold most dear over time. Next is the 4th mirror of “most forgotten love.”  The fifth mirror is of “mother and father” where our parents show us our perception of ourselves.  The mirror of your quest into darkness called “the dark night of the soul” is the sixth mirror.  The seventh is the mirror “of self perception.”

There are many deep thoughts in this video about gender, polarity, what happens with early abuse, and why we are compelled to be with certain people. He spends a lot of time on each one of life’s challenges that are our mirrors.  Very insightful!

Sanaya Says, “Authentic!”

“You cannot love another truly until you truly love yourself.  Until then, you are more in a needy state, mistaking what you give out as love, when in fact it is ego’s ploy to get what you think you do not already have.

You come from Love.  Love is your true Source.  Beauty, nature, beautiful music, kindness awaken this within you.  Serving others awakens this realization within you.  So, give.  Reach out.  Touch another with kindness.  Feel that.  It has always been within.  Now you will no longer allow yourself to be used, abused by those who have not realized they, too, are Love.  Be that which you seek and you need seek no longer.”  suzannegiesemann.com

The Meaning Of Compassion

“Let me explain what we mean by compassion.  Usually, our concept of compassion or love refers to the feeling of closeness we have with our friends and loved ones.  Sometimes compassion also carries a sense of pity.  This is wrong–any love or compassion which entails looking down on the other is not genuine compassion.  To be genuine, compassion must be based on respect for the other, and on the realization that others have the right to be happy and overcome suffering just as much as you.  On this basis, since you can see that others are suffering, you develop a genuine sense of concern for them.

As for the closeness we feel toward our friends, this is usually more like attachment than compassion. Genuine compassion should be unbiased.  If we only feel close to our friends, and not to our enemies, or to the countless people who are unknown to us personally and toward whom we are indifferent, then our compassion is only partial or biased.

Genuine compassion is based on the recognition that others have the right to happiness just like yourself, and therefore even your enemy is a human being with the same wish for happiness as you, and the same right to happiness as you.  A sense of concern developed on this basis is what we call compassion; it extends to everyone, irrespective of whether the person’s attitude toward you is hostile or friendly.” dalailama.com

Spiritual Qualities

“When a flower opens its petals to the sun, it displays its beauty that had been hidden.  Like that flower, I too, am created in the image and likeness of God with a divine inner beauty waiting to be revealed.

I show my divine nature when I express my spiritual qualities of joy, kindness, compassion, love, acceptance, and interest in others.  I feel my direct and continuous connection to Spirit.  My highest calling is to be the expression of God in this world.

I also acknowledge that all others are divine in nature, even if they may express it in different ways.  As I express my own spiritual qualities, I reveal my divine nature.  It is my opportunity to be a blessing in the world.”

What Is Love?

“Love is the capacity to take care, to protect, to nourish. If you are not capable of generating that kind of energy toward yourself- if you are not capable of taking care of yourself, of nourishing yourself, of protecting yourself- it is very difficult to take care of another person. In the Buddhist teaching, it’s clear that to love oneself is the foundation of the love of other people. Love is a practice. Love is truly a practice.”

The Process Of Pivoting

“Anytime you feel negative emotion, stop and say: Something is important here; otherwise, I would not be feeling this negative emotion. What is it that I want? And then simply turn your attention to what you do want. . . . In the moment you turn your attention to what you want, the negative attraction will stop; and in the moment the negative attraction stops, the positive attraction will begin. And—in that moment—your feeling will change from not feeling good to feeling good. That is the Process of Pivoting.”
