To Thine Own Self Be True

November 11, 2021
I believe that we see everything in this world based on our own perception, formed by our experiences, conditioning, and belief systems. We see through our own unique lens of understanding. As such, we each have our own personal truth.

In other words, we see the world as ‘we are’ rather than seeing the world exactly as ‘it is.’ As we evolve, so does our truth, ever changing as the seasons.

Throughout history, there has been an ongoing search for ‘one’ ultimate truth. Instead of bringing us closer together, this search has in fact created conflict and separation within humanity. There are so many varying viewpoints and belief systems, based on religion, politics, race, gender, etc. – each choosing to follow a specific way of life, abiding by a specific set of rules. The conflict and separation comes in when others try to pull us into ‘their’ truth. Listen to ‘my’ truth, follow ‘my’ way, be like ‘me.’ Asking us to give away our sovereignty to conform to their belief systems.

What if we could accept each person’s truth for what it is, and learn to honor and celebrate our differences?  We’re all here to follow our own road. There are many who walk with us, but they can never walk in our shoes. We each have a unique purpose for being here and that purpose is our own personal truth. We are all perfect parts of the whole.Perhaps there is no ‘one’ truth. Perhaps there is only truth as ‘One’, when we come to recognize that we are the same ‘One.’ “
