Our First Amendment Rights

July 4, 2022

“June 27, 2022 – The U.S. Supreme Court rules that public school officials have a constitutional right to pray publicly, and lead students in prayer, during school events.

The ruling does not say they can ‘lead students in prayer.’ It clarifies that

coaches and other school officials can pray in public, and others (including students) can join them

if they choose to.  The great thing about this decision is that our 1st Amendment rights (including the freedom to worship in public) do not stop at the school property line.”
