“The true basis of religion is not belief, but intuitive experience. Intuition is the soul’s power of knowing God. To know what religion is really about, one must know God.
Faith means expanding your intuitive awareness of God’s presence within, and not relying on reason as your chief means of understanding. Intuitive faith, not logic, is the basis of divine understanding.
Try to feel a response in your heart. The heart is the center of intuition in the body. It is your ‘radio receiver.’ Once you feel an answer in the heart, call to the guru deeply, ‘Introduce me to God.’
A disciple asked, ‘How can intuition be developed?’ Yogananda: ‘The best way is, every time you meditate, to sit calmly for a long time after doing the techniques.
It is during this period that you will be able to deepen your awareness of God’s presence within you. Go ever deeper in your enjoyment of that presence. The longer and more deeply you enjoy the peace within, the more quickly will your intuition develop.”
